Announcement: Pedaltube / Clips4coins section removed
By the site owner's request, the forum subsection discussing clips4coins videos has been deleted. Although I will not necessarily stop people discussing their videos briefly in conversation, I will no longer be posting reviews or details about any specifics of their videos and would hazard against others doing the same.
Sorry to come over all formal, but both me and Kate have always agreed that if we ever receive any requests from content owners about their intellectual property, we'll deal with them appropriately, and that's what's been done. Thanks for co-operation etc, keep on pumping |

Plus quality of clips were not professional some I heard where just taken from Youtube and then put up for purchase. I totally disagree with Crank350 on everything he says. Over the years, Pedal Tube has produced many clips, albeit with mostly European cars, and the quality has been quite good. The only issue I ever had with them with their requirement that you buy COINS to purchase their stuff. I salute their contribution to our community, and a few coins left over is not a big deal to me. |

RE: Announcement: Pedaltube / Clips4coins section removed
That's a lot of effort to go to if you do honestly think it's a shill - two months since the first post, and with 5 other posts discussing other stores first. Usually people doing that don't have that sort of patience. Clips4coins is a site that has scratched my particular itch more often than many other sites through no fault of the latter, but there is no denying that their business practice is manipulative and their videos are overpriced. Despite that, however, their 'sins' are not sufficient to justify avoiding them and that I imagine is something they play to. If a site produces material you like, you tend to support it - PP is not an industry large, stable or generic enough to warrant discarding one source of content because you disagree with their practices, the risk of you missing out on something you'll really enjoy that you can't find elsewhere is often too great. The video prices of the longest clips on C4C are actually not all that bad, it's the shorter ones which are a little excessive, plus the extra overhead costs of having leftover coins, using artificially inflated prices before putting on sales and creating duplicate sites with the same owner/webmaster that only post 3 or 4 videos before going dormat to solicit an extra block of coins out of you that you wouldn't normally need to spend., Despite all that though, if you really want that video you'll suffer the above to get it. Honestly, sites that do 'streaming only' are more frustrating to me than the above. Having to go to the lengths of setting up a stream recorder so I get to keep the video is more costly in time expended than the extra cost. For people on smaller budgets though I appreciate this isn't the case.

True I have used stream recorders in the past when signing up to membership sites that don't have the downloading option of their clips only streaming, but allot are not legit and do not work properly. Either the clips would not turn out to be full quality when recording them or the video would be choppy and the audio would be out of sync. What program do you use,any legit ones that do work properly and are free?

RE: Announcement: Pedaltube / Clips4coins section removed
In my experience you can pretty much give up on software that aims to capture the stream directly, they work for certain streaming services but very seldom the lesser known ones PP sites tend to use. The only foolproof way is to run the video, make sure you disable all other sounds/notifications on the machine and record the screen/window realtime. I use Bandicam for screen capture but it isn't free. OBS is free and should theoretically do the job but I can't say for certain - please also note that circumvention of DRM by doing this is effectively infringing on copyright regs. Obviously it goes without saying that you should never share material captured this way, but sometimes it's pretty much a necessity to get videos to be watchable at all - all too often the streaming players are very unreliable, don't allow pause etc.

Thanks for the feedback I will try OBS. Real Player has capability of downloading most streaming videos on sites, but most membership sites will block it and use different flash players (Not Adobe) so it makes it difficult for Real to grab the vids. I could not remember the one I used,I was so long ago and the program is not longer for download nor does site exist anymore.I would record the vids but it would timeout off and on and would have to start over was not stable.
